How to make a Franken-paddle

Today, on On Delay, Pete and Gayle show you how to make a Franken-paddle.

You need:

  • 1 broken paddle
  • lots of cable ties
  • an electric drill
  • a sharp knife

Step 1. Drill holes in the paddle on both sides of the break.

Step 2. Lace the pieces together with cable ties.

Step 3. Cut the cable ties close on the ugly side.

Step 4. Reattach the paddle to the handle.

See, good as new!

  1. Is there a story about how the paddle broke? All is good here in SF…summer fog has been clearing a bit now that July is almost over. We’re off to Hawaii in 2 weeks : )

    • Hi Tammy, Thanks for your comment. No, it’s not a very interesting story about how the paddle broke: it got stepped on when we were climbing out of the dinghy. Pete has now changed the orientation of the paddles in the dinghy to make this harder to do.
      Enjoy Hawaii

  2. Pete – looks quite similar to the motorcycle windscreen/bodywork repair technique, no? *Applause*
