Saturday Afternoon on Provinciales

On Saturday, we rented a little car and drove along Provinciales. We drove the highway, the length of the island: first to the end of the road on the east and then in the evening we drove to the end of the paved road on the west.

Here are some pictures from the day:

Banking is such a big deal here; it seemed appropriate to have my picture taken in front of a bank in the fancy shopping district.

Contemplating our next sailing options

Jane and Tony did the tour at the conch farm. Here is our guide Denver with the farm's pet conch: Sally and Gerry. We now know how to sex conch.

Conch pens as far as the eye can see.

Jane and the mountain of conch shells behind the conch farm.

Tony next to the sign for the "The Hole".

The hole is a deep unprotected hole in the island. We've peered into its depths.

Pete and our little car -- it was a good little car for the day.

This plant is why the place is called Turks ... looks like a fez

  1. It has been a few years since we have been there, but we thought the Turks and Caicos were great. I just wish Canada would finally get around to annexing them!
